Hopefully getting updates every now and then. I'll still post some short (or long, it depends) review of any game I'm putting there, but at least now it won't be necessary to crawl through the archives to search for a specific game posted nobody knows when.
Well, most of the blog has changed already. Still there are some problems, like the comment preview; it's working but it has no style yet. I tried to make that part work in a similar fashion to the search (which is now loaded through PHP) but it just doesn't seem to be working, as the whole thing is sent through POST instead of GET. I've been messing with cURL for around half an hour, and got to something... just not what I expected. As it's getting already a bit late, I'm just rolling back the comment system to before I started touching stuff.
If I'm lucky I might get the workaround shown to me in my dreams. If I'm not, well, I'll think of something anyway. At least you'll get a decent looking preview page.
I dunno if what I just written makes any sense. Gosh, I'm so tired today.
Maybe... or maybe not. I've been messing with the style of the blog for a while, not totally decided to change the entire design yet. You know, somehow I got used to the current one, but I keep saying "mmph... it's not exactly what I want". The big problem is that I have no idea whatsoever about what I do want. Meaning I'm trying two different styles behind the scenes:
OK, the images don't align correctly because they are different size, and the full size version is not full size. But you can see the idea. The one with the white background looks a bit more minimal, maybe, and is closer to what I originally pretended when I was writing my own blog engine. Still, maybe it's too white when you get a couple tons of clean pixels on each side. Maybe I could just "uncenter" it, or even change the sidebar so it's on the left. I don't know...
The black version, however, represents a bit more my design philias. I simply love that orange, FF9933, but it only looks OK over black. Do I want a black backgrounded website? I don't know! Do I? I almost had it with this design, but in the last moment thought that maybe a clear background with dark text would give a higher readability. Apparently this is correct except for the very case of dark grey (or black) background with light grey (or white) text, that actually reduces the eye fatigue. This idea somehow fits on the dark design, although maybe the orange breaks it? Well, it's not in the main pools of text (the articles) except for the links, so it may still work.
I don't know. I could even have both and let the user choose. Obviously, this would mean twice the work each time I update a tiny bit of the page. I guess I'll ask the pillow.
