Even though I haven't been writing a lot these past two weeks, our dungeon crawler development kept going forward receiving some major updates worth mentioning.
First of all, talents. Talents are intended to allow a higher customization degree to your characters. Starting at 10xp and every 10xp afterwards (until 50, for now), you'll be able to choose one "trait" of a different kind for your character, getting different bonuses and specializations.
At the lowest level (10) you'll be able to choose a profession. Currently, you can be a soldier, crafter, trader, priest or leader. While some of them give you some specific traits for you dungeon adventures, they will often give you "different options" instead of closing you doors. I mean, a priest will get, for example, a bonus on all his magical staffs based on his SN level. Crafters will be the only ones able to actually craft gear and soldiers will be paid for every monster they kill. These are just examples, and of course, the professions are subject to many changes.
At level 20 you'll be able to chose a deity, at level 30 a main Power Sphere, and at level 40 some really nasty stuff I won't be talking about yet, and at level 50 you'll gain another attribute point. I'll explain what all these things do... at some point ;)
I already mentioned the second big change: Crafting. Crafters are now allowed to craft. Nice, huh? OK, maybe that's a bit too general, as, in fact, what they can do at the moment is basically improving the gear. Using three items of the same type and level you'll be able to get one of a level above. The system is still on the first stages of testing, so I won't be going much into detail, as it may change radically.
But there's more! For all those who were thinking we had forgotten about our main character (the Dungeon), there are a lot of changes and updates there as well. We included a hell lot more of powers such as Live Weapons, Earthquake or Time Ecstasy. One of the biggest changes though, is the addition of altars that have nasty effects on the rooms they are in, giving extra bonuses to all your enemies. Suddenly, that pile of zombies you'd usually disregard gets a huge bonus to the Pressure they generate, and you're fucked up.
There are currently 4 types of altars, which at the same time can have different levels, but many more are coming soon.
Of course, changes to balance the game and lots (LOTS) of fixes were also done during these time. So, just to make sure this is clear, Death Raiders is still under heavy development, even if I hadn't say a word about it!
Stay tuned for more!
